FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

“The #1 Pro Wrestling School in the Western US”  * “The #1 Placement Record in the World”

Q:  Where is Ultimate University located?

A:  At the R1 Gym in El Segundo, CA. Just 5 minutes from Los Angeles International Airport.

Q:  How long has “UU” been in business?

A:  Since 1998.

Q:  Are you can accredited University?

A:  No “Ultimate University” is our trade name.  It is a d/b/a, owned by Ultimate Pro Wrestling, LLC.

Q:  Who are some of your “Graduates?”

A:  John Cena, The Miz, Victoria, Chris Masters, Nathan Jones, Sylvester  Terkay and Jon Heidenreich started their training and careers with UU / UPW.  Referee Marty Valenza, Luther Reigns, Brian Kendrick, Samoa Joe, Melina and many others continued their development with UU, and were with UU/UPW at the time they moved to WWE / TNA.  We’ve placed over 30 men and women with WWE under contract, and have over 100 others work there in paid positions. We’ve sent over 50 to wrestle in Japan.

Q:  What does it mean to “Graduate.”

A:  You never technically “graduate” from pro wrestling training, as you are always learning.  You finish our Program when you move on to another organization based in a different area. You are then always welcome to return to UU, or to visit and participate in classes when you are in town.

Q:  How does tuition work?

A:  Tuition is $200 per month for 17 months, for a total of $3400. An initiation fee of $400 is due at time of enrollment, which covers your 1st and last month.  Thereafter, there is a $50 monthly Gym Maintenance Fee. All students making payments must enroll at R1 Gym through American Service Finance (ASF) using either a credit card, debit card, checking account or savings account.              -or-

A:  The 2008 Schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:30 pm – 10:30pm, and Saturdays from 1-4pm

Q: When can I visit R1 Gym to watch a UU class, or for a tour?
A: Drop-in anytime during class hours to visit our facility, watch a practice session, meet students and staff,  or to enroll immediately with our easy registration process. Parents are welcome to attend. Although no appointment is necessary, it is helpful if you first notify us at
info@upw.com of your intention to visit.

Q: Do I need to tryout prior to enrolling?
A: No. Anyone in good health is welcome to enroll.  Approval/denial is at the discretion of UU/R1.

Q:  How old do I have to be to enroll?

A:  18.  We have accepted Students as young as 14, based on individual evaluation/subject to UUs approval.  Students under the age of 18 must have a Parent or Legal Guardian sign his/her Agreements.

Q: Why is UU different from other schools?
A: Our “placement” record is better than other Schools’ in the history.  Of equal importance, we are committed to fostering a positive environment and experience for each and every Student. Our strict Code of Conduct centers on creating a team atmosphere, where everyone is committed to helping one another.

Q:  Which Companies/Promotions does UU work with:

A:  In 2008, we enjoy close working relationships with WWE, TNA Japan’s IGF and HUSTLE organizations, and Mexico’s AAA.  Regionally, we work closely with PWG, WPW and EWF, and keep many UU Students busy there.

Q: When does the next session start? When can I start?
A: You can begin at anytime.  Through our history, we’ve developed a system which allows new students to fluidly join in classes which involve intermediate and advanced Students.  So, join now!
